The Cakewalk vocal-recording workflow

Step 1

Insert on the vocal bus

Add it as an audio FX on the vocal track or bus — the signal is untouched.

Step 2

Paste and align lyrics

Paste the sheet, set where the first line starts, and increase the font until it reads easily from your mic spot.

Step 3

Record without stopping

Press play and sing. No more pausing every two bars to look at a phone or a printed page.

Step 4

Recall it later

Cakewalk saves plugin state with the project so the lyrics come back with the song.
