Want this inside your DAW, synced to the song?

This free web tool scrolls on a timer. LyricsRunnerVST is a VST3 plugin that scrolls your lyrics in perfect sync with the playhead in Cubase, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Pro Tools, FL Studio, Studio One, REAPER and Cakewalk — so the singer always reads the next line at exactly the right moment.

How to use this teleprompter

Paste your lyrics or script into the text box. Blank lines are kept, so verses, choruses and paragraph breaks stay visually separated while the text scrolls.

Set the scroll speed in pixels per second. For sung lyrics, 30–60 is usually comfortable; for spoken scripts, most people read at 60–120. Raise the font size until you can read the screen from wherever you are standing, then press Play.

Click the full-screen button to remove everything except the text. Mirror mode flips the text for beam-splitter teleprompter rigs mounted in front of a camera lens.

Why a timer-based prompter isn't enough for recording vocals

A web teleprompter scrolls at a fixed rate. Music does not: there are held notes, instrumental bars, pickups and tempo changes. Within a verse or two the text drifts out of alignment and the singer starts guessing.

That is the reason LyricsRunnerVST exists. It loads as a VST3 plugin in your DAW and reads the playhead position directly, so the lyric on screen is always the lyric being sung — even if you loop a line, punch in mid-phrase or change the tempo map.

Use this free prompter for rehearsing, memorising and speaking to camera. Use the plugin when you are actually tracking vocals.

FAQ

Is this teleprompter really free?

Yes. It runs entirely in your browser, there is no signup, no watermark and no time limit. Nothing you paste is uploaded anywhere.

Can I use it for singing lyrics?

Absolutely — that is what it was built for. Set a comfortable speed, raise the font size, and start scrolling a beat before you sing. For lyrics that follow your song automatically, use the LyricsRunnerVST plugin inside your DAW instead of a fixed timer.

Does it work on a phone or tablet?

Yes. Open the page, paste your text and tap play. Many singers keep a tablet on a mic stand as a prompter screen.

What is mirror mode for?

Mirror mode flips the text horizontally so it reads correctly through a beam-splitter glass on a camera teleprompter rig.
