Scrolling lyrics insideBitwig Studio

Bitwig Studio is a playground for modulation and sound design, and vocals often arrive late in that process — after the arrangement has already grown three extra sections. LyricsRunnerVST keeps the singer oriented by scrolling the lyric sheet straight from the Bitwig transport.

Good to know

  • Runs as VST3 in Bitwig Studio 4 and 5 on Windows, macOS and Linux hosts that load VST3.
  • Lyrics and markers are saved inside the Bitwig project.
  • Great fit for producers who arrange first and record vocals last.
Works on a second monitor, a TV or a tablet used as a display.

The Bitwig Studio vocal-recording workflow

Step 1

Drop it on the vocal track

Add it as an FX device on the vocal track or on the master — audio passes through untouched, so device order never changes your tone.

Step 2

Paste the sheet

Paste the whole lyric sheet in one go. Blank lines become section breaks, which is handy when a Bitwig arrangement has grown a second bridge.

Step 3

Mark the first word

Park the playhead on the first sung word and set the start marker. Scroll position then follows the Bitwig timeline, tempo automation included.

Step 4

Send it to the room

Pop the device window out and drag it to a second screen or a TV facing the vocalist. Bitwig remembers the layout with the project.

Bitwig Studio FAQ

Does LyricsRunnerVST work in Bitwig Studio?

Yes. It loads as a VST3 FX device in Bitwig Studio 4 and 5 and takes its position from the Bitwig transport.

Bitwig is not showing the plugin.

Open Dashboard → Settings → Locations, make sure your VST3 folder is listed, then hit Rescan. A full restart of Bitwig clears any stale cache.

Does it follow tempo automation?

It does. Position is read from the timeline rather than a fixed scroll speed, so tempo automation and time signature changes are followed automatically.
