Why won't my lyrics scroll in Ableton Live?
Lyrics stop scrolling in Ableton Live for one of three reasons: the transport is not actually running, the start marker was never set, or the plugin window lost focus after a project reload. Set the start marker at the first sung word, press play, and the scroll follows the Ableton Live playhead again.
A teleprompter inside a DAW is driven by the host clock, not by a timer of its own. That is what makes it accurate, and it is also why a stalled scroll is almost always a transport problem rather than a plugin fault. If the Ableton Live playhead is parked, the lyrics are supposed to sit still.
The second common cause is a missing start marker. Until the plugin knows which bar the first line belongs to, it has nothing to line the text up against, so it holds the sheet at the top. Setting the marker once per song fixes it permanently — the value is stored with the Ableton Live project.
The third is subtler. If you duplicated a track or imported a template, you may be looking at a second instance of the plugin that has no lyrics loaded. Check the insert slot you actually opened before assuming anything is broken.
